Silvia Temis based in Calgary Alberta is the leader singer of a quarted Notas de 4 and a duet with Flamenco guitar player Benjamin Barrile in Toronto. In both collaborations Silvia fuses Latin jazz, Cuban and Flamenco rhythmns.

Born in Mexico, educated in architecture and design, Silvia discovered flamenco designing a flamenco show to then start taking  flamenco dancing and then found a fascination for flamenco singing (cante). She further developed her singing with instruction from prominent flamenco singers (cantaores) like, Jesus Corbacho, Rocio Marquez, Encarna Anillo and Miguel Ortega, as well as continuously taking Flamenco dance and theory with the Toronto based, award winning Canadian flamenco dancers Carmen Romero, Maria Serrano and Esmeralda Enrique.

Silvia performed at the Festival Flamenco du Montreal in 2013 and 2014 with Triana Project and Carmen Romero Company. She was also a part of the Toronto International Flamenco Festival in 2013 with the flamenco cuadro Triana Project, of which she is a cofounder.
In 2014 Silvia was based in Calgary Alberta, where she is one of the organizer of the Calgary International Flamenco Festival and also  taught  flamenco dance and singing at Fiona Malena Academy and the Jewish Community Centre of Calgary.
While in Calgary she performed with many local and international artists in the city. She was recently part of EXPO Latino Festival 2015 with Fiona Malena Ensemble as well as  Salero Calo Flamenco group. 

Silvia was a recipient of the Artist Entrepreneur program at Canada’s Music Incubator 2016 at Coalition Music. 
She continues to work passionately in bringing a genuine and personal approach to her singing. Silvia’s mission is to propel the collaboration between flamenco artists around Canada with musicians from different styles of music.

    Silvia will be performing flamenco singing with Tracy Cumberbatch ensemble at the Church of the Redeermer. Tracy Cumberbath's love affair with dance began at the tender age of three when she took for first tap class.Now, she has become an ardent advocate for Flamenco wherever her travels take her. From performing with local Flamenco artists at various events and festivals in Calgary, to producing showcase concerts within the community with local talent to studying with Flamenco legends in Spain and across North America, she is happy to be able to share Spain’s passionate art form with you. Tracy is also honoured to be the recipient of the prestigious Cristina Heeren Foundation Flamenco Dance scholarship as well as a grant recipient of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

    Hello everyone! The last few Flamenco Jams at Cafe Koi has been a success, thanks to all the participants! This one will be special, since it is a special edition hosted by the Calgary International Flamenco Festival. We hope you can all make it and come enjoy an evening of flamenco music and dance and also to participate with a piece or two or more! Reservations are suggested since this edition will be a busy one. Children are welcome. You can contact Silvia if you would like to participate with a specific piece, she might be also able to put you in contact with someone to accompany you, or you can get together with whomever you would like to perform with, get it ready and come that night and just mention to Silvia you are participating so she can have an idea of the structure of the night!     On Saturday, July 8th we're so excite to host the talented Notas de 4 on our live music stage. Notas was born with the idea of bringing together a group of people with different backgrounds and fusion tunes and rhytmns that we feel inspired by. Bulerias from Spain, tangos mixed with a salsa, traditional songs from Mexico sang with a rumba flamenca flair and some flamenco dance in the mix are the types of experiments that Notas de 4 does. This is a new and unique collaboration between Silvia Temis singer from Mexico, Jorge Villena guitar player from Spain, Jonathan Lewis violin player and Andrew Deppisch percussion from Canada.
